Have you ever set a goal in WoW? I've set goals, hit level X by the end of th weekend. Make enough for my mount by the end of the month. Well, this guy made a goal to hit 70 by the end of the year. He left himself with just over 24 hours and was a bit into 69 when he started. He blogged his results here. To make a long story short, he took over 24 days to hit 70. If he used Joana's 1-70 Horde Leveling Guide, he would have hit 70 in about half the time. But it sounds like he had fun.

Mages in World of Warcraft
Have you wondered how to spec your mage for use in the arena? This article takes a look at the advantages and disadvantages of fire mages and frost mages. The article deals primarily with how to spec a mage for the arena. If you are looking for the best way to level your Mage, check out either Joana's 1-70 Horde Leveling Guide or Brian Kopps 1-70 Alliance Leveling Guide.

Warhammer Online vs. World of Warcraft
This blog post takes a look at the impact Warhammer Online will have on World of Warcraft. I'd expect Warhammer to have a fairly strong following, but nowhere near the following WoW does. The realm vs. realm feature of Warhammer sounds very interesting, but will probably be a turnoff for some players.

Make Gold at Level 30 on World of Warcraft
Here's a real basic Gold Making Guide for low level World of Warcraft characters. As is the case in most MMORPG's, one of the best ways to make money early on is to sell tradeskill items in the auction house. If you really want to see the best ways to get gold in WoW, you need World of Warcraft Gold Secrets.

World of Warcraft debate: Grind vs. Quest
This blog post examines the Grinding vs Questing debate. The poster comes to the same conclusion that I do - questing is definitely the fastest way to level especially if you have a plan. There's a reason that the best speed-levelers all quest to level their World of Warcraft toons and that's because it's the fastest way to level. The key is to work multiple quests at once and don't waste steps. Grab a guide, like Joana's 1-70 Horde Leveling Guide or Brian Kopps 1-70 Alliance Leveling Guide, and they will detail exactly what quests you should be working on at all times in the most efficient manner possible. There is no quicker way to level in WoW than following the information in these guides.

China Kid Plays World of Warcraft Fire Mage, Burns Classmate
A 17 year old Chinese boy got in a fight with a classmate and lost. He decided the way to get back at him was to douse him with gasoline and set him on fire. Luckily the boy survived, although he's severely burned. The perpetrator blamed the incident on World of Warcraft saying he was just acting the role of a fire mage. Obviously the real blame lies with the boy and WoW is merely a scapegoat.

WoW Gold-Making Myths
This post claims that you are losing money by farming materials for your profession if you can sell the materials for more than the finished product. While this is strictly true, it's a necessary evil if you want to advance in most professions. Partying 101: Spicing things up in World of Warcraft
I'm not a big fan of grouping for the sake of grouping. By all means if you are in a guild or are at the end game, grouping can be quite fun. If you are less than level 70, the fastest way to level, however, is to solo. I avoid pickup groups like the plague. Dying frustrates me and I die much more often in pickup groups than any other way. If you get tired of grinding, this article gives you some ideas - pickup groups (yuck), instances, guild groups, PVP, or raiding.

Is World of Warcraft to Blame For Baby Grace's Death?
This article in the Houston Chronicle details the role World of Warcraft played in the death of "Baby Grace". For once, blame is not heaped on the game, but on the perpetrators of the crime. Apparently, Grace's mother met the man that is also accused of killing Baby Grace while playing WoW. She moved, along with her daughter to Texas from Ohio. Many articles seem to stop there and much of the blame ends up on the game company. In this instance, the article rightly points out that WoW isn't to blame for the death of the little girl, but the actions of two sick individuals.

IGN's Top 100 Games of All Time - MMORPGs a No Show
Very interesting. Only one of the top 100 games of all time is a MMORPG. World of Warcraft checks in at 83 despite selling at amazing levels since it's release. Everquest is shut out by IGN despite being the first huge MMORPG. I can't imagine that WoW didn't make at least the top 20 and EQ was left off completely. Your thoughts?

To Solo or to Group - A World of Warcraft Leveling Guide
There are basically three ways to level in WoW. You can solo, group, or run instances, which also requires a group. Each has it's advantages and disadvantages. This World of Warcraft Leveling Guide will examine the strengths and weaknesses of each approach.
First, we'll look at running an instance. Instances can be great fun, but they are an extremely poor choice for leveling purposes. Experience points are shared and there are more deaths than outside of instances. Character deaths are the biggest impediment to leveling. If you are in a pickup group, the results can be horrible.
Running instances aren't all bad, however. If you are running with a regular group or guildies, you are much more likely to be successful. You have a better chance to get some of the nicer items for your level. Finally, there is quite a bit of social interaction. Generally, I tend to ignore instances until the higher levels. At that point the rewards are worth the risk for me.
Questing or grinding in groups is the second option. It has many of the same advantages and disadvantages as running an instance, but on a smaller scale. I would stay away from pickup groups for the most part and if you're in a bad one, don't be afraid to leave. Again you will have to share experience points.
Positively, a group should slightly increase your survivability, but results may vary. Much depends on the experience of your group. It's nice to have someone to talk to if you are grinding or doing a particularly tough quest. I tend to avoid groups in all but the toughest quests since I try to level as quickly as possible so I can enjoy the end game content.
That brings me to my preferred method of leveling, solo. Soloing can be boring and monotonous. You probably won't have the best gear. And when you are ready to group/do instances you won't have a reputation as a good player. You won't have a negative reputation either.
Why would I want to solo then? I want to get to 70 as fast as possible. When soloing, I don't have to share experience points and I don't have to deal with bad players that get me killed. The authors of both Joana's 1-70 Horde Guide and Brian Kopps 1-70 Alliance Guide, the top two WoW leveling guides, say that the best way to level is solo and will show you exactly how to level from 1-70 in the quickest possible fashion.
The best way to level in WoW is to use a World of Warcraft Leveling Guide and primarily solo. For the tougher quests, grab a partner but only stick with the partner to finish the tough quest. Avoid the instances until higher levels. At the upper levels, find a good guild and enjoy all the high end content.

World of Warcraft Leveling Guide Video Sample
A World of Warcraft Leveling Guide by itself can be very useful. Just reading and following a good guide will increase your leveling speed dramatically, but if you use a couple tools offered by some of these guides, your leveling will be even easier.
One tool and WoW player should use is Meta Map. Meta Map is useful whether you are using a guide or not. You can edit your WoW map using this module and it will show you where exactly all the bosses can be found.
Used in conjunction with speed leveling guides like Joana's 1-70 Horde Guide or Brian Kopps 1-70 Alliance Guide, Meta Map becomes even more useful. Both guides utilize Meta Map to show you where to go next.
Another tool that Joana's Guide uses is video. Joana has the whole 4 hour, 20 minute run to 60 on video. By speeding through the quest turn ins and traveling plus some of the basic quest mob grinding, Joana was able to almost 5 days worth of video into 35 hours. You can see exactly what Joana did to level to 60 in less than 5 days.
I found a sample on YouTube that shows some of what Joana did in Stonetalon at level 27. This is only 6 minutes out of 35 hours of video that you get with Joana's Guide.
Joana not only tells you what to do, but also shows you! This is what puts Joana's Guide above the rest in my opinion.
Whether or not you decide to purchase a World of Warcraft Leveling Guide, check out the different mods that you can download to make your WoW experience better. And if for nothing else than fun, take a look at other WoW videos on YouTube. There's some good stuff out there.

3 Ways to Level – World of Warcraft Leveling Guide
I’ve been playing World of Warcraft since shortly after it went live and I would find myself lagging behind some of my buddies in leveling. I put in the time, but until I read a World of Warcraft Leveling Guide, I wasn’t leveling intelligently.
I’ve discovered there are basically three ways that people level their characters. You can play by the seat of your pants, as I was doing. You can do quests. Or you can grind.
When we first start a new game like World of Warcraft, I think we all just explore the content. You might visit the guys in your starting area with question marks over their heads and complete those quests, grind a few mobs along the way and move to the next area the quest givers send you.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this way to play. There is a certain thrill as you experience the wonder of World of Warcraft for the first time. However, if you are on your second or third character and even beyond that, the thrill is gone and you probably want to get to the end game.
That leads to the second way you can level in Warcraft – you can grind mobs. Grinding allows you to stay in one area for a longer period of time and you’ll probably get better overall drops than the quester, but grinding gets quite boring. It’s also not the way WoW was meant to be played.
The final way to level is considered the best by the fastest levelers out there. The creator of Joana’s Guide claims to have set the 1-60 record of leveling by hitting 60 in just 4 days, 20 hours played. The guide’s creator quests 90% of the time and grinds just 10% of the time – generally when running from one quest location or giver to another.
Brian Kopp, the creator of an Alliance 1-70 World of Warcraft Leveling Guide, claims to have gone from 1-70 in about 8 days, 20 hours, and 38 minutes. Brian also espouses the questing method of leveling.
Questing not only allows you to level faster, but you also get to experience the content Blizzard spent all that time creating. You will also certainly find yourself less bored.
When I decided I needed to do something different to level quicker, I bought World of Warcraft Joana’s 1-70 Horde Guide. I noticed immediately that following the guide, I was able to not only find all the quests I needed to do, but also was showed the order to do the quests. This guide is incredibly well put together and includes videos showing you exactly how Joana leveled so quickly. The quests in the guides are linked to Thottbot and Allakhazam.
Joana’s Guide is incredibly comprehensive and uses only legal ways to level. There are no exploits! I heartily endorse Joana’s Guide with one exception – if you want to level an Alliance character. Joana’s guide is for Horde characters only.
If, however, you are looking for an Alliance alternative to Joana’s Guide, Brian Kopps 1-70 Alliance Leveling Guide should do very nicely. Again, Brian shows a quest-centric approach to leveling with almost every quest linked to Thottbot.
Joana's Guide and Kopps Guide are awesome sources of leveling information. They are widely considered to be the best of the World of Warcraft Leveling Guide options.
